Undanfarnar vikur hafa þau Sif Jóhannesdóttir og Unnsteinn Ingason frá Fornleifaskóla barnanna heimsótt nokkra skóla á starfssvæði Eyþings og kynnt verkefnið fyrir kennurum og starfsmönnum skólanna. Farið er yfir aðdraganda að stofnun Fornleifaskólans, helstu verkefni hans og hugmyndafræðina sem liggur að baki verkefninu. Viðtökur hafa verið afar góðar en tilgangur heimsóknanna er fyrst og fremst að kynna öðrum skólum verkefnið en fornleifarannsóknir eiga sér stað vítt og breytt um héraðið og því fjölmargir möguleikar til verkefna af svipuðum toga í öðrum skólum. Heimsóknaverkefnið er styrkt af Menningarráði Eyþings.
For the last few weeks Sif Jóhannesdóttir and Unnsteinn Ingason have visited some of the primary schools in the district and presented the work of KAPI Kids archaeology project Iceland to the teachers at the schools. The events leading to the establishment of KAPI are reviewed as well as the KAPI projects and the ideology behind KAPI. The purpose of the visit is to introduce the KAPI project to other primary schools where archaeology are to be find in the neighborhood and excavation are near many of the schools during summer which means there are lot of possibilities for other schools to establish similar projects in their area. The visiting project are sponsored by the Cultural board of North East Iceland.
